Test Stand/Rig Design & Development
We combine our engineering, machining, and automation expertise to design and build custom test stands to meet your specific requirements. We design and build all equipment in-house.
Our capabilities include:
- Comprehensive design – We create test stands and rigs for engine, emissions, transmissions, axle testing, and motorcycles and ATVs.
- Prototyping & fabrication – Custom parts are built in our in-house shop. Our test cell engineers perform the final assembly and integration of controls, automation, and instrumentation.
- Flexible ownership – We can deliver the equipment to use in your lab, or keep it at our facilities for specialized testing.

In-Use Testing
Let Excel Engineering manage your entire in-use testing program from start to finish. Our comprehensive, single-source program streamlines the process and reduces your project management burden.
Features of our in-use testing program include:
- Purchasing, sourcing & management –
- We purchase and finance the test vehicles on your list and manage them through our own fleet of flatbed trucks and drivers.
- Define, locate, and procure difficult-to-find vehicles, engines, and components (i.e., dirty injectors, failed components, etc.
- Full service & documentation – We perform all vehicle inspections, maintenance, and documentation.
- Integrated testing – Engines, components, or catalysts are removed and installed directly into our test cells.
- Simplified billing – Our transparent, flat-rate pricing for acquisition, installation, and testing eliminates the need for multiple vendors and finger-pointing.
