Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engine (H2ICE) Testing
Excel Engineering has established industry-leading capabilities for testing hydrogen internal combustion engines. We have six secure, heavy-duty engine test cells dedicated for H2ICE testing. We combine these with advanced safety systems and a robust hydrogen fuel supply to ensure you have the safe, high-quality testing environment you need.

- Purpose-built H2 test cells – 6 heavy-duty engine test cells, designed with 8-inch concrete walls and blast panels, plus 6 additional H2-convertible cells.

- Precision environmental control – Regulated combustion air temperature and humidity for accurate testing.
- Robust H2 fuel supply – On-site liquid H2 tanks, multiple independent suppliers, and capability for 350 bar H2 delivery to engines.
- Unique natural gas (NG) pipeline access – Iowa’s largest private NG pipeline enables cost-effective SMR H2 production.
